Folsom’s Hope was founded in 2008 by Salwa Kasabian, a mother of three who saw the need firsthand—and felt God’s call to respond—when her children were placed at Theodore Judah Elementary, located in one of the city’s lowest-income neighborhoods.
Folsom is a prosperous city where family, community, service and generosity are strongly held values. But in the midst of this prosperity there is also great need. Families are broken. Parents are caught in the grip of destructive behavior. And children bear the consequence.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Research shows—and our own experiences affirm—that caring, consistent, one-on-one attention can have a transformative effect on the lives of struggling children.
And so Folsom’s Hope is doing just that: mentoring, tutoring, supporting, encouraging and nurturing at-risk students—elementary, middle and high school—right here in our own city.
Giving Children Hope... Brick by Brick
Folsom's Hope programs have been so successful that they are in desperate need of more
space to alleviate growing wait-lists of children.
Imagine a place where at-risk children and their families could come for help.
Where kids could receive tutoring or mentoring. Where families could get counseling or parenting classes. Where Moms and Dads could take GED classes or get job training.
A place where the community can come together. And imagine if that place were located
right in the middle of one of the most underserved areas of the Folsom community.
Proceeds from the 2023 Builders Fore Kids Charity Golf Tournament will be used to help fund buildout in the first phase of a dedicated community center to continue changing lives!
Since 2003, the Builders Fore Kids Charity Golf Tournament has raised over $775,000 for
children's organizations located in the Sacramento Region and continues to be one of the premiere golf tournaments in the area for the construction industry.
